PUBLIC CONSULTATION LAUNCHED ON PLANS TO BUILD NEW HOMES OFF GOODWOOD AVENUE, HUTTON

Higgins Homes has unveiled its plans to deliver up to 170 homes on land off Goodwood Avenue, Hutton, and would like you to have your say on its proposals.

The Land off Goodwood Avenue provides an exciting opportunity to deliver both private and affordable homes in a sustainable location, alongside a community building and enhanced links to Hutton Country Park. The emerging proposal will help Brentwood Council meet identified housing needs through the delivery of much-needed affordable housing and support meeting its housing targets.

Higgins Homes held a webinar with the residents of Goodwood Avenue and Collins Way on Wednesday 24th June 2026 and is now looking for wider feedback from the local community on the concepts, initial designs and the site layout they are proposing.

All feedback received will be reviewed and considered as part of the design process before an outline planning application is submitted to Brentwood Council later this year

OVERVIEW OF THE EMERGING PROPOSAL

  • A mix of up to 170 new homes, including family and starter homes.

  • 50% affordable homes for local people.

  • Provision of a new open space, play equipment and community building for the entire community to enjoy.

  • Improved access to Hutton Country Park. Enhanced pedestrian, cycle and bus links to Shenfield Station to reduce the reliance on single car journeys.

  • Our consultation newsletter has been posted by Royal Mail to 1,354 residential and business addresses around the site; a full radius is included below.

  • All feedback received will be included in the Statement of Community Involvement, which will detail all consultation activity undertaken by Higgins Homes. This document will be submitted alongside all our reports and plans as part of the final application to Brentwood Borough Council.
